The Westcombe News
The Society's Westcombe News is published ten times a year
(no issue in August or January).
3200 copies are currently printed
and all residents of the Westcombe Park area receive copies,
Society member or not.
The Westcombe News was first published in June 1973. A copy of this issue has come to light recently, courtesy of the Greenwich Phantom.

In 2005, 2009, and once again in 2011, the Westcombe News received recognition at the Walter Bor Awards, sponsored by the London Forum.
In 2005 and 2009 it was awarded Best Amenity Society Newsletter in London at the event. It was also nominated for an award in 2007.
In November 2011, The Westcombe Society won two awards - Commended in the Newsletter category although the WN
was the only newsletter nominated that serves the whole community rather than just the members of a Society - something of which we are very proud.
The Society also received a Specially Commended for Media Impact for the Westcombe Society's "effective use of multimedia channels to distribute Society news and views to the public"
which indicates appreciation not just of the printed Westcombe News, but of the Web site, Blog - and several instances recently where the WN has left its mark on the BBC News.
We are extremely pleased to have had the Westcombe News recognised in this way.
It represents a huge tribute to all the hard work of Neville Grant, the Editor. Neville would like to pass on his thanks to everyone involved in writing,
producing, editing and distributing the WN, as well as to those who both obtain and pay for advertisements in it. Your help and support is invaluable to us.
The publication is additionally available in PDF format here on the Web.
By this means we hope to maintain a link to the area for past residents, as well as offering an insight in to what it has to offer newcomers.
If you are interested, the Westcombe Park/Shooter's Hill area was also referred to in this Guardian article in late October 2007.
